This summer, Kensington Palace, once home of the late Princess Diana, opens a special exhibition celebrating

THE PUBLIC INVITED TO SHARE MEMORIES OF THE QUEEN

LONDON- (July 9, 2004)- This summer, Kensington Palace, once home of the late Princess Diana, opens a special exhibition celebrating HM Queen Elizabeth II’s diverse style and fashion. The Queen’s Working Wardrobe: Memories of Royal Occasions 1945-1972 will feature twelve different outfits worn by Her Majesty, each chosen to reflect various aspects of her life and work. The exhibition will run for one year opening Friday, July 23, 2004.

The exhibition will also feature a "memory wall", made up of postcards sent from people all around the world, sharing their memories of meeting or interacting with the Queen or having taken part or been spectators of Royal events and celebrations. The memory wall will display pictures, mementos and descriptions of what it was like to meet Her Majesty.

All postcards sent in will be displayed on the memory wall. To send in a postcard, following these instructions:

The Queen’s Working Wardrobe: Memories of Royal Occasions 1945-1972 is included in the price of regular admission to Kensington Palace. Tickets cost approximately $19.00 for adults and $12.80 for children 16 and under. A family ticket (2 adults and 3 children) is approximately $57.00 and student and senior citizen tickets cost $14.70. Children 5 and under are free. Kensington Palace is open to the public everyday, except from December 24 to 26.
