The bi-annual Ryder Cup Competition is between Team USA and Team Europe. The first official Ryder Cup matches were played in 1927 in Worcester, Mass. In 2006, Team USA is currently expected to include Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Chris DiMarco, David Love III, and David Toms. Team Europe is currently expected to include José Maria Olazábal (Spain), Sergio Garcia (Spain), Paul McGinley (Ireland), Henrik Stenson (Sweden) and David Lynn (England). The top 10 finishers on the points list quality to play in the Ryder Cup, with the final two players on each team selected by the team captain. Tickets to the Ryder Cup were available only by lottery. The random draw for those who are eligible to buy tickets was held in August 2005. Applicants who entered the lottery drawing will be notified of their results via mail. Elegant Ireland cannot obtain Ryder Cup tickets for those wishing to attend the competition.
